Is a blog on your website really needed?

So, your business has an amazing website, you have set the site up with a beautiful home page, contact page, and product page. You are happy as you have built a fully functional website, but, there seems to be a lack of visitors. After spending countless time researching and going around in circles, you begin to ponder the age old question…..

Does my website need a blog?

Well, the short answer to this question is a definite yes.

I better explain why.

There are several reasons why your website will thrive because it has a blog. Let’s look at a few of the main reasons why your website MUST have a blog.

Higher chance of driving quality traffic to your website.

Okay, I have a question for you, do you want more visitors to your website?

Yes, we all do. If you don’t, then you should probably stop reading now. So how do you get more traffic to your website, well the answer is simple, content, content, content, and more content.

How do you get more content?

You create it through blogging. Let me explain this simple process.

Every time you write a blog post, you create an extra page on your website, and if you write good quality relevant content that people want to read it will start to show up on search engines and deliver you traffic, this traffic will see your content and if they like it they will share it on social media, and this will lead to more traffic to your website. When you are producing regular content onto your site this tells search engines like Google that you are active and are working on your site, this is what Google likes to see, and they will reward you for this with a higher ranking position for the webpage and website as a whole.

Good quality content will get seen by other people, and they will share it on social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram and so on. It will also create more links and more traffic back to your website

Higher chance of converting traffic into leads

Your blogs will create traffic to your site; this traffic will see your products or services. If your landing page is set up correctly, this should grab the attention of your visitors and make them want to sign up to the e-mail subscription (newsletter) signup on your site.

Blog posts are there for a long, long time.

If you spend time creating your own backlinks (like many many people do now) when Google or any other search engine decides to change their algorithm this can affect the links and your site. However, when you create good quality relevant content for your website, it is there for as long as you want it to be. Google will always be about content they want to provide the answers to the people who are searching, and they want their answers as quickly and as relevant as possible.

Google’s job = provide the best result to the searcher.

Authority boost

Producing quality relevant content for your site will display you as a leader in your field. If you are the person who is always producing content which is always answering questions and being helpful to a community, then you will be the person who people come to when they’re interested in purchasing something. People who have been reading your blog will enter into the sales process more educated they will already be aware of who you are what you do and what you have to offer this makes the sales process a lot easier.
